Jahlil Okafor got the start for the Sixers on Saturday, tallying 26 points and nine rebounds in 35 minutes of action against the Wizards.
Joel Embid (rest) was held out of this one, so Okafor got the start while Nerlens Noel came off the bench and played 13 minutes. Saturday was the first game Okafor saw the floor in five games, and the sophomore big man responded with a nice night, adding a block and a steal while shooting an efficient 10-of-16 from the field. Even with the productive game, Okafor’s value remains hindered by the logjam his current team has at the center and power forward position. The kid has talent, so if you have the space, he’s a good stash candidate with hopes the Sixers pull off a trade that allows Okafor a more favorable situation for playing time in the second half of the season.
