James Ennis III posted seven points, two assists, eight boards, two steals on 1-of-4 from the field, 0-of-2 from deep and 5-of-6 from the line in Monday’s loss to the Spurs.
Ennis was the only player on the Grizzlies to finish as a positive contributor in plus/minus at plus 5. His defense was a big reason why the Grizzlies were able to mount a furious second half comeback. Unfortunately the young wing got into trouble and picked up his fifth foul early in the fourth quarter. The 26-year-old has been a non-factor for most of the regular season and only played 20 minutes in game one. However, the Grizzlies thin on the wing and in need of 3-point shooting so Ennis should continue to see 20+ minutes a night.
