James Harden scored 10 points to go with seven assists before fouling out in Thursday night’s blowout loss at home against the Spurs, as the Rockets’ season was ended by a 114-75 drubbing.
The MVP candidate didn’t take a shot attempt until three minutes into the second quarter and finished with an ugly 2-of-11 shooting mark. Harden was looking to facilitate early and the Rockets were missing some open shots, but it got to a point where he was passing up open threes and drives for himself in order to dish to his teammates. In a game where the team looked to its star he fell flat on his face. The Beard played with little urgency or aggression and it was one of the most bizarre playoff performances in recent memory. This game will leave a stain on what has been a historically great season for Harden.
