James Harden carried the Rockets past the Grizzlies in a 112-94 win on Monday with 57 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two steals, a block and six 3-pointers.
The two assists are a season-low and a dip in that number was to be expected considering he lost his favorite assist target in Clint Capela (thumb). Harden saw all kinds of defensive looks tonight, but he was able to score at will. He went 17-for-33 from the field and 17-for-18 at the line. Eric Gordon (right knee soreness) and Chris Paul (strained hamstring) should return soon, but we're seeing a historic run from James Harden right now as this was his 17th consecutive game with at least 30 points. During this stretch he's averaged 41.3 points, 5.8 3s, 7.5 rebounds, 9.2 assists, 2.1 steals and 0.7 blocks on .431 shooting from the floor and .894 shooting at the line on 13.9 FTA/G. Of course he's the No. 1 player during that stretch.
