Erik Spoelstra has been experimenting with Olynyk next to Hassan Whiteside for the last couple games and that might be the permanent move going forward. Johnson said that having a bench role, like he had last year, ultimately brings him comfort because of familiarity. He also likes playing alongside Tyler Johnson due to the chemistry the two built together last year in forming one of the NBA’s best bench tandems. The Heat have not yet announced who is going to be their power forward but it seems more and more likely that Kelly Olynyk will be taking over the starting gig. JJ still has top-50 upside as his minutes are going to be high regardless.
