Derrick Favors has agreed to sign a two-year deal to remain with the Jazz.
Favors took some meetings with interested parties but his market was never very large. A return to Utah always seemed like the most probable option here, and he'll look to build off a nice bounceback campaign where he was able to stay healthy and provide the Jazz (and fantasy owners) solid production. He'll be a late-middle or early-late round fantasy selection for typical big man stats, though Utah's rumored pursuits of stretch four types to round out the roster might suggest that his role will decrease slightly. On the other hand, Shams Charania is reporting that the deal is worth "$36M-plus," which is a heck of a lot to pay for someone you might be thinking about phasing out. The salary bodes well for his usage. The Salt Lake Tribune has since reported that the second year is non-guaranteed, which means Favors might be hitting the market again a year from now unless he turns in a career season.
