Jimmy Butler had his best game for the Wolves in Sunday’s 112-106 win over the Clippers, scoring 33 points on 10-for-20 shooting with two 3-pointers, eight rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block.
Butler scored 18 points in the fourth quarter and he’s been trending up for a while now. Hopefully you bought low on him when you had the chance as the Wolves will go as Jimmy does. Despite the eye popping numbers Karl-Anthony Towns drops, Butler is the most consistent defender and playmaker for the team and tonight showed why he is their premier player, putting away the Clippers almost single handedly. Over the course of the season Butler is the no. 35 player in 9-cat leagues, but his last six games are more representative of what he’ll give you for the rest of the year, averaging 22.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.5 steals, 0.7 blocks and 1.3 3s on 47.5 percent shooting. His free throw attempts have shot up to 6.2 a game which is more in tune with his averages during his top-20 years on the Bulls.
