Jimmy Butler helped the Wolves hold off the hard-charging Magic for a 124-118 win on Wednesday, shooting 10-of-19 from the floor en route to 26 points, three rebounds, three assists, three 3-pointers and two steals in 36 minutes of action.
The Wolves had to hang on after entering the final quarter with a 26 point lead but got the job done. If you want to nitpick, Butler was just 3-for-5 from the free throw line. On the other hand, this makes for 20-plus points in five of his last seven and he’s turned it up since vowing to return to his scoring ways. Butler has taken at least 15 shots in four straight too, so he’s definitely looking to score. It also makes for two 26-point outings in his last three, which represents his season-high. Jimmy Buckets is a top-40 player right now but is a near-lock to get into the top-20 neighborhood he knows so well. There’s probably some time left to buy low, but know that the window is on its way down and could slam shut with one big performance.
