Joel Embiid scored 18 points to go with 13 rebounds, three assists, one block and four turnovers in the Sixers’ season opening loss to the Wizards on Wednesday night.
Embiid showed flashes of dominance on Wednesday night, much like his entire career. He shot 0-for-4 from deep, a part of his game that Embiid has worked very hard on. Those will start going in sooner than later. It should be noted that Embiid played 27 minutes against the Wizards, higher than projected. That’s a good sign for the coaching staff’s faith in Embiid’s health.
