Joel Embiid will not play on Friday vs. CHA

Joel Embiid is being ruled out for Friday's game against the Hornets but is expected to play against the Magic on Sunday.

Embiid has said that he wants to play in more games this year, but that will ultimately be up to the training staff. Embiid is a top-tier talent either way.

LeBron James

LeBron James (sore right groin), Alex Caruso (sore right wrist) and Danny Green (left volar plate injury) are all probable for Wednesday's matchup against the Heat.

As per usual, this is just the Lakers erring on the side of caution when it comes to injury reporting. All three players are tracking towards being available for the game and based on recent history, there should be no limitations in terms of playing time. The Lakers are back in the NBA Finals for the first time since 2010 and will head into Game 1 as the favorites to take out their 17th NBA Championship.

Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis (right heel contusion) has been listed as probable to face the Heat in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday.

While the probable tag is nothing new for Davis, the injury appears to be different from that which had him questionable only four days earlier. His previous concern was in relation to a sprained left ankle, suffered during Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals. While this is a new injury, there is very little doubt he will play on Wednesday and barring any major setbacks, he should be good to go.

Jovan Buha of The Athletic is reporting that Tyronn Lue is a candidate in the Clippers' coaching search.

Lue was an assistant with LA last season and is already said to be a candidate for other gigs around the league, namely Philadelphia. ESPN previously reported that analyst Jeff Van Gundy is in the mix as well, and he's been connected to the Rockets. Monday's surprising dismissal of Doc Rivers was said to have been the result of several things building up over the years rather than this past season's disappointing finish, and the team is looking for a high-level thinker who "values progress and innovation," as well as someone who can better develop young players and uphold an identity built on toughness and grit.

Tim Bontemps of ESPN is reporting that the Celtics are expected to offer Jayson Tatum a max contract extension this offseason.

Tatums is wrapping up a fantastic season where he averaged 23.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.4 steals, 0.9 blocks and 2.9 triples, on his way to making the 2019-20 All-NBA Third Team. The Celtics clearly see him as their franchise player and he should remain in Boston for many more years.

Joe Harris wants to return to Brooklyn and the Nets have made it clear that he is their top priority in the offseason, but he’s expected to have plenty of suitors.

Harris said back in February that his preference was to re-sign with the Nets in order to play with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, and has steadfastly maintained the same position up until now. Brooklyn has already committed $132 million to a dozen players for next season, not including Harris or a $5 million team option on Garrett Temple. Ex-Nets assistant GM Bobby Marks recently mentioned that if Harris got a starting salary of $12.2 million, the Nets could face a $50 million luxury tax. The Knicks, the Hawks, the Hornets and the Wolves could try to lure away the talented sharpshooter, while there have been rumors of Harris sign-and-trades, with capped-out teams like the Sixers or the Warriors. One things is for sure, Harris should maintain a similar role going forward whether he re-signs with the Nets or not.
