JaKarr Sampson has played well in his short stint with the Kings, leading coach Dave Joerger to suggest that he’ll be used more going forward.
Sampson raised eyebrows with a monstrous 16 rebounds on Wednesday and has always impressed with his energy and athleticism. The Kings like what he brings to the table on defense, with Joerger saying “He has a body that we need – an athletic, 6-foot-8 guy who can play a couple of positions. It’s a little easier for him to stand in front of some versatile dudes, some drivers and some physical guys.” Sampson should continue to get a closer look while Willie Cauley-Stein remains out and is definitely someone to know for any deep league owners in need of rebounds, steals or blocks.
