John Collins underwent an MRI that revealed mild inflammation and swelling in his left ankle, and he'll be re-evaluated on October 22.
The initial MRI was on October 2 but Collins also underwent a "non-surgical procedure" on October 8, reported to be some sort of injection. He left last Friday's preseason game after just 13 minutes of action but didn't hit the injury report until Saturday afternoon. The Hawks have no incentive to rush him back in another rebuilding year and the fact that he'll miss at least the start of the regular season will sting owners who've been taking him inside the top-50. Rookie Omari Spellman could see extra work while Collins is sidelined.
