Vince Ellis is reporting that the Pistons expect Jon Leuer (knee) to be ready for the season opener.
He added that they are cautiously optimistic that Leuer may even be ready for the start of training camp. Leuer played only eight games last season before undergoing season-ending ankle surgery in October. He also recently underwent meniscus surgery on his right knee this from an injury he obtained in offseason workouts. With only Zaza Pachulia and Henry Ellenson to compete with for backup center and power forward minutes, Leuer should be a big piece of the rotation. He will likely be too boring to draft in most standard leagues but could crack the top-150 as he did in the 2016-17 season with 10.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 0.7 triples and strong percentages.
