Jonas Valanciunas had a big double-double on Monday with 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting to go with 15 rebounds and a 3-pointer.
Valanciunas posted his best game of the season since the season opener when he also had 23 & 15, but this time he didn’t record any defensive stats. He’s been sitting outside of the top-100 on the year and the lack of playing time is something that’s handicapped his value since his rookie year. It doesn’t look like that’ll change anytime soon as he played 27 minutes tonight and hasn’t reached the 30 minute mark since the opener. Even with all of this, Valanciunas has been strong over his last six, averaging 11.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 0.5 steals and 0.3 blocks on 56.5 percent shooting. He’s a low-end big man at best but there is still some value to be had in a player that can grab nearly double-digit boards while shooting efficiently.
