Forward Jonathan Isaac said the toughest challenge he has faced since transitioning from college to the NBA has been understanding the game at the NBA level and the speed of it, according to Josh Robbins of The Orlando Sentinel.
“Even playing pickup [games], these guys [the veteran players] know so much, and they’re able to apply their understanding with that speed,” Isaac said. “And that’s something I’m lacking right now. So definitely understanding the game and playing at that speed is tough.” The sixth overall pick will open the season in a bench role as he adjusts to the NBA level and gains size. Isaac will be 20 years old in a week and while he is not expected to make an immediate impact this season, he has a ton of raw talent and much of his long term value will depend on his ability to mesh with Magic foward Aaron Gordon.
