Jonathon Simmons was perhaps the only Spur to turn in a good game on Tuesday, finishing a horrific loss at Oracle with 22 points in 26 minutes.
Simmons had a nice offensive night with an 8-of-17 shooting performance, allaying some concerns about where the Spurs would replace Kawhi Leonard’s lost offense. It turns out that everyone else failed to hold up their end of the bargain. He also added three boards, three assists and two triples. Simmons is likely seeing dollar signs in his sleep these days, as his strong performances in the postseason should turn into a nice chunk of change in free agency. Whether or not Kawhi Leonard returns for Game 3, Simmons will play a big part for San Antonio – they need plenty of capable wings and Simmons fits the bill.
