Starting in place of the ailing Terrence Ross, Jonathon Simmons had another sound game on Friday with 12 points, three rebounds, four assists, a steal, a block and a 3-pointer in 25 minutes.
Ross’ illness couldn’t come at a worse time, as Simmons put a neat cap on a very strong preseason. At this point we’re willing to call that position battle a coin flip, though the two are likely to see similar workloads regardless of who starts. Ross remains the preferred fantasy target and should produce top-120 value while Simmons, despite his nice summer showing, is best left for deeper leagues.
