Josh Richardson started in place of the injured Dion Waiters (ankle) and quietly chipped in across the board. J-Rich scored 10 points, hit one trey, handed out two assists, got one steal, and blocked one shot.
Waiters’ sprained ankle is in bad shape and the guard currently does not have a timetable for his return. Richardson will likely stick in the starting lineup in the foreseeable future but is a low-end contributor right now. He’s not primed for an explosion, just yet, but a serious amount of usage in his immediate horizon could be a catalyst for some improved play.
