Julius Randle scored a team-high 25 on Saturday night in San Antonio, helping the Lakers to a win with six rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block while going 8-of-15 from the field and a surprising 9-of-11 from the line.
Randle has been rolling to the tune of top-50 value over the last two weeks and looks poised to keep the good times going as the Lakers wrap things up. They’ve won their last four, all with Randle playing a big part, so that keeps him in line for heavy usage going forward. Though he’s at 69.5 percent from the line this season, the Kentucky product has hit 21 of his last 23 free throws since an 0-for-5 night in Sacramento. Randle hasn’t scored in the single digits since January 15th and has at least five rebounds in every game since January 19th. While the counting stats are nice, the knock on Randle has always been his lack of cash counters and his poor efficiency. While the money stats have plenty of room for improvement, Randle has blown away his previous career-best of .487 by shooting .562 from the field this season. His lack of defensive stats and ugly free throws leave him as a top-130 guy in 9-cat leagues but he’s a top-100 player in 8-cat formats.
