Justin Patton of Creighton and Jarrett Allen of Texas worked out for the Pistons on Thursday.
Patton played one year for Creighton in 2016 after red-shirting his first year and was a nice surprise for the Blue Jays, showing nice athleticism, quickness and defensive agility for a seven-foot center. He is shooting up draft boards and may even make it to the late lottery if a team falls in love with him during a workout. Allen is another talented yet inconsistent freshman out of Texas with 6’11” size who showed great potential as a rim-runner and pick-and-roll finisher. He is rumored to be in the same draft range as Patton so this workout will be a nice challenge for these two to see who gets drafted higher. The Pistons sit in the 12th spot in the draft so there’s a chance they select one of these young bigs next Thursday.
