September 15, 2019, 2:40 pmJustise WinslowSF, Miami Heat
Justise Winslow said that his plan is to play point guard this season.
Winslow had a nice run as Miami's PG last season when Goran Dragic was out after bouncing around between positions for a few years. The Heat have already declared Dragic their starter, however, which means that Winslow might have to accept coming off the bench if he wants the bulk of his minutes to come as a point guard. When asked about that possibility, Winslow said, "It's just about winning, really. So that's how I approach it." While playing point guard would likely help Winslow's fantasy value, the decreased playing time would probably cancel that out.

October 16, 2019, 10:48 pmBruno CabocloSF, Memphis Grizzlies
Bruno Caboclo delivered 10 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals, a block and a 3-pointer in 18 minutes during Wednesday's preseason win over the Thunder.
Caboclo is likely to feel the squeeze this year given the additions of Jae Crowder and Brandon Clarke, plus better health for Jaren Jackson Jr. and Kyle Anderson, but he's making a case to carve out a consistent rotation role. He's a threat to pick up multiple cash counters in even 15 mpg and remains a viable flier in 16-team formats.
October 16, 2019, 10:48 pmJames HardenPG, Houston Rockets
James Harden put up a very James Harden line in Wednesday's preseason loss, scoring 40 points (13-of-27 shooting) to go with 10 rebounds, seven assists and seven 3-pointers in 34 minutes.
Harden lead the charge for Houston while Russell Westbrook by contrast struggled to get things going (14 points on 3-of-13 shooting). The narrative for these two is how they will be able to mesh their gargantuan stat sets together. So far it's been a mix of one going off while the other struggles or even output from both that don't exacly mirror the hge numbers we're used to seeing out of them. They're both going to have relatively fine seasons, with Harden in particular still in contention to be the number one fantasy player again, but it's clear these two will experience growing pains as they continue to remember how to play with one another.
October 16, 2019, 10:46 pmGrayson AllenSG, Memphis Grizzlies
Grayson Allen started again on Wednesday night but came away with just six points and four assists on 1-of-5 shooting.
There's been some momentum behind Allen starting on opening night but he was vastly outplayed by Dillon Brooks in this one, and Memphis was resting Ja Morant and Jae Crowder. Even if Allen earns a starting gig he's only a late-round option in deeper leagues, but he can definitely be added to all watch lists.
October 16, 2019, 10:42 pmJosh JacksonSF, Memphis Grizzlies
Josh Jackson checked in for seven minutes of action in Wednesday's preseason game.
This looks like Jackson's first action of the preseason, even though he was marked as away from the team on the injury report. He and the Grizzlies worked out an arrangement where Jackson would not attend training camp and start the year in the G-League so this doesn't change anything for fantasy players. Remember his name in deep leagues if he gets called up, though.
October 16, 2019, 10:41 pmJaren Jackson Jr.PF, Memphis Grizzlies
Jaren Jackson dropped 18 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, a steal, two blocks and two triples in Wednesday's preseason win over the Thunder.
Jackson went 6-of-17 from the field and did manage to foul out in 25 minutes, but this is the sort of line that fantasy owners dream of when selecting him inside the top-50. The fouls are a bummer since that's the one thing that can really keep him off the court and outside the top-45, but we're going to bet on some improvement there even if we didn't see it tonight.
October 16, 2019, 10:40 pmLonnie Walker IVSG, San Antonio Spurs
Lonnie Walker IV started for DeMar DeRozan (rest) on Wednesday, finishing with five points on 2-of-8 shooting, four assists, four rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 23 minutes.
The scoring isn't great but the other stats are actually pretty solid considering how long he was out there. Walker IV has the talent but is buried under a plethora of guards in San Antonio's rotation, making him no more than a speculation add in dynasty leagues.
October 16, 2019, 10:39 pmKyle AndersonSF, Memphis Grizzlies
Kyle Anderson put up seven points, four rebounds, five assists and two blocks in 22 minutes on Wednesday night.
Anderson wasn't astounding but it's just good to see him back on the court and looking fairly healthy after shoulder problems derailed his first season in Memphis. Slo Mo will never please the points crowd but his solid blend of defensive numbers and strong efficiency put him on the map sometime around pick No. 100 in competitive drafts.
October 16, 2019, 10:34 pmHassan WhitesideC, Portland Trail Blazers
Hassan Whiteside left Wednesday's preseason game again, this time tweaking his left ankle.
This is cause for much more concern than the finger jam from earlier, as he had been dealing with a sprain with this ankle since before the preseason started. Hopefully we'll learn more about the extent of the injury soon.

October 16, 2019, 10:25 pmDejounte MurrayPG, San Antonio Spurs
Dejounte Murray had his best game of the preseason on Wednesday, finishing with 20 points (8-of-11 shooting), four assists, three rebounds, a steal, two 3-pointers and no turnovers in 21 minutes.
Murray had yet to find his shot through the preseason thus far, but tonight's matchup against what was a lax Houston defense. Still, a night like this is exactly what he needs to regain some confidence after missing all of last year to injury. He's an interesting, albeit risky, choice in the later rounds of drafts.
October 16, 2019, 10:18 pmLaMarcus AldridgePF, San Antonio Spurs
LaMarcus Aldridge dominated the Rockets in the Spurs' 128-116 win on Wednesday, putting up 22 points (11-of-13 shooting), six rebounds, a steal and a block in just 22 minutes of action.
Aldridge made it look easy in this one, and definitely looks ready to go for the regular season. The 13 year veteran head into his 14th season looking as sharp as he has in his last few, and holds a ton of value currently going in the 4th round of fantasy drafts.
