Karl-Anthony Towns scored seven points on 3-of-7 shooting with three rebounds, three assists, a steal, a block and two triples on Thursday.

KAT should have no trouble producing at a top-5 value and is one of the most reliable fantasy studs out there. There's no drama heading into this year and KAT is the man in Minnesota.

Justin Patton
C, Detroit Pistons

The Pistons have announced that Justin Patton has successfully undergone surgery to repair a fracture in his right pinkie finger.

Patton has not been able to make a splash in fantasy so far. Considering the Pistons are in off-season mode, hopefully his recovery time will not keep him from too much basketball action.

Romeo Langford

Brad Stevens informed the media that Romeo Langford will most likely miss the start of the 2020-21 campaign after undergoing surgery to repair the scapholunate ligament in his right wrist.

Langford was expected to play through the pain until he injured his groin in Game 2 vs. the Heat. After suffering another injury, the surgery was an easy decision for the Celtics. Langford is not on the fantasy radar outside of deep dynasty leagues at this point as he struggled to produce any fantasy value. He will have to get healthy prior to even having a chance at cracking the rotation for a team that is clearly ready to compete for titles. It is always more difficult for a unproven player to crack an NBA rotation, especially one as good as the Celtics', if they miss training camp and the start of the season.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Hawks hired former NBA player and Spurs G-League GM Landry Fields as their assistant GM on Wednesday.

Fields played for the Knicks and Raptors across five seasons in the association from 2010-2015 and has proven enough in the G-League to get a promotion to the big league. He joins a staff comprised of Travis Schlenk (GM/President of Basketball Ops), Rod Higgins (VP of Basketball Ops) and Dominique Wilkins (VP of Basketball Ops).

Speaking at his introductory press conference on Wednesday, Monte McNair said that the vision for the Kings is to play up-tempo behind De'Aaron Fox.

McNair added that Luke Walton agrees with the assessment, which seems questionable given the way that he forced the Kings to slow it down in his first season as head coach. Leveraging Fox's elite quickness to push the pace had Sacramento on the playoff bubble with Dave Joerger at the helm but the team pivoted in another direction last year, trying to fine-tune their halfcourt offense in preparation for grinding, mucky playoff games — games that they didn't qualify for anyway. Beyond Fox, the lack of pace seemed to affect Buddy Hield, so it's encouraging that the new top decision-maker has already identified one of the Kings' best advantages. Time will tell if that's how it plays out on the court.

Lloyd Pierce complimented Skal Labissiere after his work at Hawks camp on Wednesday, adding that he's been "healthy for a long time."

That's notable because Labissiere never played for the Hawks after being traded from Portland, sustaining a left knee articular cartilage lesion on December 28 and missing the rest of the season. The restricted free agent will be looking to prove that he's healthy and a strong bubble camp with his teammates is a great start. Skal had a modest bounce-back season last year while helping the Blazers get through some injuries up front, and he's a worthwhile roll of the dice for a Hawks team that's still sifting through young players.
