Karl-Anthony Towns was able to put up 16 points, 12 rebounds, one assist, one steal, one turnover and one 3-pointer in the Wolves’ blowout loss to the Warriors on Wednesday night.
The Warriors refused to let Towns beat them and really keyed in on the big man. We’re seeing this more and more as the season wears on. Towns has been limited to 11 shots or less in four of his last five games and Wednesday night’s game was particularly interesting because Towns wasn’t in any foul trouble. The Warriors simply wouldn’t allow Towns to be the guy. KAT won’t always be against teams with the defensive intensity or gameplanning that the Warriors have, but this is a development to monitor.
