Karl-Anthony Towns led the way in Wednesday's 107-100 win over the Pelicans, scoring 25 points with 16 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two threes.
KAT hit 9-of-17 from the field and might be able to crank up the heat now that Jimmy Butler isn't breathing down his neck. We'll see if he's got some extra fire in his belly in the aftermath of the trade. Towns is a lock for first-round fantasy value but he could definitely get himself in the mix for that top overall spot in the coming weeks. The signature moment of this game was Towns rejecting Anthony Davis at the rim and Andrew Wiggins finishing with a jam of his own on the other end. You couldn't ask for a better, or more poetic, start to the post-Butler era.
