Kawhi Leonard (ankle) virtually sat on the sidelines at Thursday’s practice according to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News.
Leonard’s Game 3 availability will likely go down to the wire as the Spurs gain nothing by alerting the Warriors of their franchise player’s availability. The long layoff between Game 2 and 3 will definitely help Kawhi’s chances to play but Coach Pop has shown a willingness to sit his star out if he isn’t 100%. If Kawhi is unable to go, look for Jonathan Simmons to continue to snag the lion share of minutes at SF and he has performed admirably posting 22 points in a blowout loss in Game 2. Dejounte Murray and Kyle Anderson will likely see some extra minutes as well.
UPDATE: Kawhi Leonard listed as questionable for Game 3 on Saturday
