Kevin Durant is reportedly willing to take less than the maximum salary extension to stay with the Warriors next season, per Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.
It’s just another sign that Durant is fully committed to the Bay Area as his motivation for taking a lower salary is to keep the Warriors’ otherworldly core together for years to come while helping ensure his teammates don’t have to take massive discounts. Steph Curry is virtually a lock to sign one of the very first “super-max” contracts and the Warriors also have Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston heading to free agency. This Warriors juggernaut isn’t going anywhere anytime soon folks.
