The Kings are starting Rajon Rondo, Darren Collison, Rudy Gay, Quincy Acy and DeMarcus Cousins (suspension) on Sunday against the Jazz.
All eyes will be on DeMarcus Cousins, who erupted once again toward George Karl as his coaching job continues to rankle players, coaches and front office members alike in Sacramento. Cousins hasn’t been able to keep his emotions in check and has made himself an easy target, but make no mistake the problems in Sac date back to the days of the infamous Pete D’Alessandro era — and the Kings never should have let Karl pour kerosene on a dumpster fire for an entire season.
If the Kings’ ownership group has any concern over the damage the decision to keep Karl is doing to the franchise, this game carries extreme importance as the Jazz are the No. 9 seed and theoretically this would be a must-win game. Assuming the faction of owners that blocked the Karl firing actually want that sort of thing to happen.
