Klay Thompson scored 25 points (11-for-25 FGs, 3-for-8 3PTs) with nine boards and four assists in 40 minutes on Monday.
He erupted in the first half with 19 points but went a cold 3-for-10 from the field in the second half (0-for-4 in the fourth quarter). Klay drew tough assignments on defense all night with Kevin Durant, which could have impacted his legs as the game wore on. Expect the same situation moving forward and plan accordingly. Klay’s nine rebounds is his second-best rebounding night in his playoff career. His three treys put a halt to his streak with at least five threes at seven playoff games.
Meanwhile, Draymond Green scored 23 points (9-for-20 FGs, 5-for-9 FTs) with five rebounds, four assists, one steal and two blocks in 40 minutes. He was a bit overmatched at center when the Warriors went small ball. The Thunder won the rebound battle 52-44 and Dray only had a hand in five of those. It will be interesting to see if Kerr tweaks him lineups a bit now that the Warriors trail a series. Klay and Dray will look to shoot more efficiently in Game 2 on Wednesday night.
