The Knicks have asked Melo to expand his team “wish list” to give the team trade options according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.
It’s no secret Melo’s pining to join the Rockets to play with The Beard and CP3 but the Knicks return in any proposed deal would include Ryan Anderson who the team is not keen on. Anderson has three years and $60 million left on his contract and also happens to duplicate Porzingis’ skill set just without the athleticism, elite size and defensive prowess. The Thunder, Blazers, Cavs and Pelicans are all waiting to pounce on a deal if Melo is open to joining one of the their rosters but that’s up to Melo. The Knicks would like to expand the trade possibilities in order to receive more desirable assets but it remains to be seen if he will be open to other opportunities outside of Houston.
