According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, the Celtics are likely to keep their No. 3 pick to draft a player and haven’t re-engaged talks with the Knicks since the morning.
Apparently sources close to the talks between the Knicks and Celtics describe the ask on Porzingis to be unreasonable and Boston has cooled on going after Porzingod. The Knicks are correct to ask for the moon for their young franchise building block to see if anyone bites but it seems that Danny Ainge is not willing to give up the farm. At this point the Celtics seem likely to hold on to the No. 3 pick and hold on to the player it drafts (likely Jayson Tatum or Josh Jackson). Keep an eye on the Celtics who pop up in every trade rumor due to all the assets they’ve compiled.
