Knicks head coach Jeff Hornacek said the team would likely evaluate the point guard position during the All-Star break, according to Al Iannazzone of Newsday.
“When we bring in another point guard and young kid in Emmanuel, we have to look at things,” said Hornacek. “We have a couple more games before the break. Then when we come back, we have a few practices before that first game. If we’re going to do something, that will be the time.” In his first game with the Knicks Emmanuel Mudiay played 29 minutes and Frank Ntilikina played 31, while the game’s starter, Jarrett Jack played only eight minutes. After losing Kristaps Porzingis for the season it is apparent that the team will begin evaluating their younger talent. Hornacek mentioned Mudiay’s ability to play off of the bench alongside of Ntilikina, so it seems that the young rookie may have his opportunity to start soon enough. It is safe to drop Jack in just about all leagues, while we have to keep a close eye on the point guard battle for the Knicks.
