Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek said that he looks at Ron Baker “as a guy who can play both guard positions.”
Baker earned cult hero status last season and was rewarded with a two-year, $8.9 million deal this summer. While he could play a little shooting guard, the Knicks have Tim Hardaway Jr. and Courtney Lee at that spot and only Ramon Sessions and rookie Frank Ntilikina at the point. Baker will earn most of his time at the one spot and should be able to get consistent playing time, though he’s unlikely to carve out value in standard leagues. Deep league owners can keep an eye on the depth charts, however.
