Knicks GM Scott Perry gave no assurances on whether the Knicks will pick up the fourth-year option on point guard Frank Ntilikina’s rookie contract.
“We have until Oct. 31 to do that and we won’t discuss any contract things in detail,” Perry said. “So that’s all I’m going to tell you right now.” Ntilikina will be in camp after failed efforts to move him over the summer, but what the future holds for the 2017 lottery pick remains a mystery. The French guard played in just 43 games in what was a disappointing and injury-riddled second year in the NBA, averaging 5.7 points, 2.8 assists, and 2.0 rebounds over 21 minutes per game while shooting 33.7 percent from the floor and 28.7 percent from three-point range.
