In an interview with Marc Berman of the New York Post, Kristaps Porzingis said that he loves New York and “of course” wants to be a Knick next season.
Porzingis raised some eyebrows when he skipped his exit meeting, reportedly as a result of frustration with the team’s management and direction. That being said, while he didn’t address that in the interview, it’s fairly obvious that he wants to remain in New York or would at least say so publicly. Besides, KP has little leverage, as he is a restricted free agent in 2018. With his statement made, we’ll see if the Knicks do their part to get back on track next season.
