Kyle Kuzma stepped up for the Lakers on Thursday with 22 points in 29 minutes off the bench.
Kuzma was phenomenal, making 10-of-17 shots from the field, hitting one trey, grabbing three boards and blocking one shot. Larry Nance Jr. played 19 minutes and left the game with a fractured thumb. Expect Kuzma to slide into the starting lineup in the light of this development. Kuzma will have a wide-open window of opportunity to shine while Nance is down. Julius Randle has been off so far this season, so expect Kuzma to earn the lion’s share of the minutes at power forward from here on out.
