January 13, 2019, 4:31 pmKyle Lowry - G - Toronto Raptors
Kyle Lowry posted 12 points, five rebounds, 11 assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in a whopping 50-minute performance on Sunday.
Lowry shot just 4-of-15 but helped keep the Raptors offense going, and he got them some big points in double overtime when it looked like they were totally out of gas. He missed a few open looks today but did manage to fill out the box score, so owners won't be too beat up about his game. Thankfully the Raptors are off until Wednesday so Lowry should get plenty of rest before he needs to play again.
January 16, 2019, 8:49 amLeBron James - F - Los Angeles Lakers
LeBron James will miss at least the next two games for the Lakers as he continues to rehabilitate a strained left groin, his agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, told ESPN on Tuesday.
James has been sidelined for the past 11 games and his groin will be reevaluated in Los Angeles on Wednesday, the three-week mark since the injury occurred. LeBron will not accompany the team on its two-game trip to Oklahoma City and Houston, but he has not been ruled out of the matchup with the Warriors on Martin Luther King Jr. day on Monday. On top of everything, he has been progressing in his rehab, participating in half-court shooting and passing drills at the practice facility this week.
January 16, 2019, 1:35 amLonzo Ball - G - Los Angeles Lakers
Lonzo Ball scored 19 points on 8-of-17 shooting (including three treys) with eight rebounds, six assists and two steals in the Lakers' 107-100 win over the Bulls on Tuesday.
Both Ball and Brandon Ingram (16 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, one steal) have enjoyed life without LeBron on the court, at least as far as fantasy production goes. Ball's stat set will keep him relevant and productive in fantasy leagues all year long, but Ingram's percentages keep him from being useful in standard leagues for the most part. It's a sell-now period for Ingram.
January 16, 2019, 1:32 amKentavious Caldwell-Pope - G - Los Angeles Lakers
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope started over Josh Hart and scored 17 points on 4-of-11 shooting (1-of-6 3PTs, 8-of-10 FTs) with four rebounds, one assist and two steals over 31 minutes in Tuesday's win over the Bulls.
KCP is in the trade rumor mill and that could actually help his value, but he has been inconsistent this season and whenever LeBron and Rajon Rondo return he'll get crunched. He's a short-term asset right now until the Lakers get healthy.
January 16, 2019, 1:29 amJaVale McGee - C - Los Angeles Lakers
JaVale McGee was moved to the bench for Tyson Chandler on Tuesday against the Bulls, and scored nine points on 3-of-10 shooting with four rebounds and three blocks in 14 minutes.
Believe it or not Ivica Zubac's 11 minutes a night over the last three are the bigger irritant to McGee's value than whatever Tyson Chandler is bringing these days. This is a good time to buy low into McGee as his history is shaky at best, but realistically when LeBron (and to a lesser degree Rajon Rondo) return the team will balance out again.
January 16, 2019, 1:26 amJosh Hart - G - Los Angeles Lakers
Josh Hart was moved to the bench for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and managed just two points on 1-of-1 shooting with four rebounds and two steals over 22 minutes in Tuesday's win over the Bulls.
Hart might be better when some distributors return as there is a ton of Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma right now, and in the case of the former he really gums the Lakers offense up. Hart can be dropped in 12-14 team formats.
January 16, 2019, 1:24 amChandler Hutchison - F - Chicago Bulls
Chandler Hutchison scored 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting with five rebounds and two steals over 27 minutes in Tuesday's loss to the Lakers.
Hutchison has not been good but in deeper formats you might want to give him a look and see where this goes. The Bulls have practically nobody to play his position.
January 16, 2019, 1:22 amBobby Portis - F - Chicago Bulls
Bobby Portis (right elbow) hit just 1-of-11 shots in Tuesday's loss to the Lakers, scoring two points with seven rebounds and three assists in 17 minutes.
Portis did not have any cash counters and this is a really terrible line, and though it's tempting to just say that lower upside players shouldn't get much leash, it's still early on in a bumpy start for Portis. Better times are likely ahead and he has top-100 upside, so if that works for you hang on.
January 16, 2019, 1:21 amJabari Parker - F - Chicago Bulls
Jabari Parker scored 18 points off the bench in 17 minutes on Tuesday against the Lakers, hitting 7-of-10 shots (including two threes) with three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
You might be able to squeeze some lower-end lines out of Parker while the Bulls showcase him and sit Robin Lopez, but that's just about it.
January 16, 2019, 1:19 amRyan Arcidiacono - G - Chicago Bulls
Ryan Arcidiacono scored 12 points on 3-of-5 shooting with two rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block, one three and 5-of-5 hits from the foul line in 19 minutes off the bench on Tuesday against the Lakers.
Arcidiacono and Shaq Harrison (10 points, three rebounds, triple-one) were both productive off the bench but neither of them have any 12-14 team value.
January 16, 2019, 1:08 amEric Gordon - G - Houston Rockets
Eric Gordon (right knee contusion) is likely to play on Wednesday against the Nets.
The Rockets definitely need him back but they could still ease him in and watch James Harden try to set records. Use him with caution.
