It wasn’t a perfect homecoming for North Philly’s Kyle Lowry on Thursday, but he was able to fight through a 6-of-15 shooting night with seven turnovers to deliver 23 points, nine rebounds, four assists, three steals and three triples in 36 minutes.
Lowry lost the ball multiple times by forcing the action into the rangy Sixers on a night where the whistle came and went with the wind. While Toronto got some superstar calls down the stretch to help salt this one away, it resulted in a lot of ugly possessions and turnovers for most of the night. On the flip side, Lowry always seems to be in the thick of the action when Toronto needs a big play. He took a back seat on offense tonight but managed to corral the loose ball that would kick off the intentional fouling game while also fighting for important rebounds amidst the trees. Four of his nine boards came on the offensive glass, and he continues to be one of the NBA’s better rebounding guards. Lowry is a solid top-25 fantasy play, as he’ll give you something even when the shot isn’t dropping.
