Lauri Markkanen was Chicago’s only effective starter on Wednesday as he produced 16 points, three triples, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 32 minutes.
Markkanen didn’t commit a turnover, giving him a really nice line in either format considering the blowout circumstances. The rookie has hit the ground running this year and has made far more impact on the defensive end than expected. His college stats left a lot to be desired but the big man is currently posting 0.5 steals and 0.6 blocks per game. Those aren’t mind blowing numbers but if that keeps up then Markkanen will be a sound bet for top-100 value this year.
