John Paxson provided more detail on Lauri Markkanen's (elbow) injury on Saturday, saying he will not need surgery.
The time table doesn't change and Paxson added that Markkanen will keep his arm immobile for at least a month. The injury occurred while he was battling for a rebound during a scrimmage. This is a tough blow to a player who put a lot of work in this summer and he should miss at least the first month of the season. In the meantime, Wendell Carter Jr. and Bobby Portis should see more minutes and Jabari Parker should see more power forward minutes, possibly allowing Justin Holiday back in the starting lineup.
