Lauri Markkanen had an uneven game on Monday night but still finished with 21 points on 9-of-19 shooting, adding eight rebounds and a block as the Bulls narrowly topped the Magic.
Markkanen curiously didn’t hit a three in this one but it seemed like he was a bit out of rhythm. His first three touches of the game resulted in shots but it wasn’t as automatic thereafter, and for a decent stretch of the final quarter he was limited to just one shot attempt in the frame. The Bulls tried to rev up the tank by blowing an 18-point lead but emerged with the win in the closing seconds. Markkanen has been in a production swoon over the past few weeks but is still a solid middle-round player, so just hang tight. His opportunities will only increase as Chicago force feeds its young guys down the stretch.
