Lauri Markkanen injured his right elbow yesterday in practice and an MRI showed a high grade lateral sprain that will keep him out of action for 6-to-8 weeks.
That’s no good for the Baby Bulls, but they don’t have anything to play for so they’ll let Lauri recover at his own pace. This means more minutes for Jabari Parker and Bobby Portis at power forward, and maybe even for rookie Wendell Carter Jr. since Markkanen has been getting some run at center. We’ll see how coach Hoiberg’s Lauri-less rotation looks this Sunday when the Bulls play the Pelicans.
