Lauri Markkanen scored efficiently but didn’t do much else on Thursday night, posting 25 points on 11-of-17 shooting with one 3-pointer, two rebounds, two assists and a steal.
While most of the preseason concerns about Markkanen’s fantasy outlook had to do with his stat set, he’s earned enough goodwill that you can forget a night like this. Still, if he posts paltry numbers across the box score it looks like he’ll be someone to lean on for points and threes the rest of the way. He’s been one of the more impactful waiver pickups of the season in standard leagues to this point and should hold onto a starting gig all year long.
