When asked about the second half stretch of the season, Zach LaVine told K.C. Johnson, “I’m excited at what we can do. My legs are coming and I’m getting more in that rhythm.”
LaVine has been a bit inconsistent, but that’s expected from someone who has come off an ACL surgery and he’s still not cleared for back-to-back sets. He’s shown flashes of impressive performances and that dunk on Jakarr Sampson clearly shows he can return to form soon. In 14 games this season he’s averaging 25.4 minutes, 16.9 points, 1.9 3s and 1.1 steals on 39.9 percent shooting. The shooting was a concern as he’s going to take a lot more shots now on a Bulls roster that’s much weaker than last year’s Wolves but we expect him to get closer to his career average mark of 44.2 percent. Although there’s a close tanking race going on, the Bulls have stated that they’re going to give it their all and they’re bad enough to lose a ton of games even if LaVine logs 30 minutes per night so fantasy owners shouldn’t worry about him being shut down. Expect a strong second half of the year.
