Leandro Barbosa scored 16 points on 7-of-18 shooting (2-of-8 3PTs, 5-of-10 FTs) but it wasn’t enough as the Brazilians fell to the Croatians in Olympic action on Thursday.
It was a balanced effort from Team Brazil as Marcelo Huertas added 10 points, two steals and nine assists, and Nene racked up three steals to go with five points, two boards and two assists. Felicio Cristiano saw just under 10 minutes of action and that was fairly disappointing, and Raul Neto played just 14 minutes in the most recent example of International play not necessarily matching up with NBA valuations.
Brazil is currently slotted in a tightly bunched four-team pack currently advancing in Group B with four points and two games to play. Spain is chasing with just two points and from Brazil’s perspective they get Nigeria and Argentina in the next two games, which all things considered is good for them.
