Lonzo Ball went scoreless from the field, hitting 0-of-4 shots towards two points, one rebound, two assists and two blocks on Sunday.
Ball has had a historically bad year shooting the ball and there’s really no reason to think that he’ll magically raise those numbers to a respectable fantasy level. Now we don’t think Ball is going to be a terrible player when in reality, he has the court vision, size and I.Q. to play in the big leagues, but his tangible skill set still needs work before he can be a standard league guy on non-punt teams. His 6.8 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.8 blocks have value for certain builds, but there’s no way you can look past 31.3 percent shooting from the field, 50 percent from the line and 2.7 turnovers without having your stomach churn a little. He’s still productive in other aspects, but owning Ball isn’t for the faint of heart.
