Luka Doncic could be the Mavs' starting point guard going forward after the trade of Dennis Smith Jr.
Doncic is a terror with the ball in his hands, so this is the expected move now that the Mavs don't have a pure point guard that demands excessive playmaking opportunities. It'll open up more time at power forward and on the wings, with players like Maxi Kleber and Dorian Finney-Smith likely to benefit the most among current Mavs. Courtney Lee might factor in, as could Jalen Brunson, but Kleber is the add of choice if we're looking to squeeze value out of the ripple effects here. Doncic might have some issues with turnovers after he's toned that stuff down lately but he's going to have every opportunity to post some huge popcorn numbers. This is big news for his fantasy prospects going forward, and dynasty owners are over the moon right now. It's also possible that Doncic stays at "power forward" but either way he's the team's primary playmaker for the rest of the season.
