• According to Bleacher Report, some NBA execs consider Luka Doncic ‘leap years above anyone’ and are convinced he will be the top overall selection in the 2018 NBA Draft.

The 6’7, 18 year old wing has made quite a name for himself in the EuroBasket tournament. He has out-shined teammate Goran Dragic in many instances and was the player of the game in both the elimination of Kristaps Porzingis’ Latvia, as well as the heavy favorites, Spain. He is currently averaging 15.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3. 8 assists, 0.9 steals, 2.4 triples and only 1.3 turnovers in the EuroBasket tournament. ┬áHe was already a household name in Europe even before the tournament. He was the youngest player to ever debut with Real Madrid at two months past his 16th birthday. His Per-36 Euroleague stats last year were 14.1 points, 8.0 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.8 triples and he is getting a lot of run on a team that is known not to give their young players much playing time. NBADraft.net currently has Doncic going at #5 with Michael Porter and Marvin Bagley projected at one and two but that may soon change. Slovenia is set to take on Bogdan Bogdanovic and the Serbian club in the Finals in what should be a very exciting conclusion to the EuroBasket tournament on Sunday, September 17.
