Pistons’ coach Stan Van Gundy said that rookie Luke Kennard will “definitely be in the battle for minutes at shooting guard” on Wednesday.
SVG also added that he wouldn’t have said that on Friday while also giving props to Kennard’s defense stating that he’s shown that he has the ability to keep his feet moving. Kennard would have to battle with Kentavious-Caldwell Pope for shooting guard minutes if the Pistons were to re-sign him this offseason. Even if Kennard was to carve out some minutes for himself, he won’t be able to do enough in those minutes to warrant being drafted in fantasy leagues. Barring injuries to Pistons’ starters, Kennard probably won’t hold much fantasy value this year and could spend some time playing for the Pistons’ G-League affiliate.
