Luke Kornet saw 21 minutes off the bench against the Wolves, scoring six points on two 3-pointers with two rebounds and two assists on Friday.
Perhaps this is the start of New York’s “we should look at the young guys” phase. Kornet’s stat set makes him an appealing deep league option as a guy who can rack up rebounds, blocks and triples but we’d like to see some consistent playing time before 12-14-team leaguers get in on the action here. His presence really hurt Kyle O’Quinn tonight, as the veteran went for five points, three boards and two assists in only 15 minutes. That might be the more wide-reaching effect of Kornet’s presence.
