Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer says “it’s almost not fair” to call Malcolm Delaney a rookie.
“He’s played at the highest level in Europe and been one of the top guards over there,” Budenholzer said. “It’s almost not fair to call him a rookie.” Delaney averaged 16.3 points and 5.5 assists while shooting 40.2 percent from 3-point range last season in Euroleague. Jarret Jack is currently the team’s backup point guard, but his health draws concern. If Delaney can win the backup role, he could be looking at 16-21 minutes a night and could be worth a look in deeper leagues.
